Preheat an oven to 190°C/375°F. Grease a rectangular silicon baking mould with a little butter. Put chocolate in a bowl kept over a deep non stick pan of boiling water. Add butter and melt both together.
Quarter pears and core them. Place them in a layer at the base of the silicon mould.
Add eggs to the chocolate-butter mixture and whisk. Sift refined flour with baking powder and salt into the mixture. Add vanilla essence, coffee decoction and mix everything well. Add sugar and mix. Add walnuts and mix.
Pour the batter over the pears and keep the mould in the preheated oven and bake for ½ hour.
Let it cool for a while, turn it out of the mould, slice and serve.
